Merger Photo

1. Something that could create a problem in a merger photo is if there's wind and the background moves because of it, for example trees, flowers, etc. Another thing that could be problematic could be lighting issues like shadows, sunlight, etc.

2. On the Bowie campus, a good place to take these photos would be the hallway because there will be no wind. Another place could be in front of the kennel so that there's an interesting background for the photo. A good simple background could also be in front of the lockers in the L hall so it isn't distracting to the actual merger.

3. Something creative I could do in my photo is look like I'm pushing myself over into the next pose of mine. It'll have a lot of levels, and it would make the photo interesting.

4. I could wear something plain so that it doesn't distract from the photo. If I wore any prints or vibrant colors it might take away from the effect of the photo.

HDR Images

Warm-Up

1.

2. I was really surprised when I saw some of these photos and saw that they were taken with an iPhone. I've seen a lot of photos taken by a phone, but a lot of them are grainy and aren't as sharp as these ones are. These look like they were taken with a DSLR camera. I'm really impressed.

3. I think the photographers could've used the editing apps to sharpen the image and enhance the colors as well. I feel like these photos couldn't have looked this good without editing first.

4. Two tips for shooting with your phone could be to make sure you're in a well lit environment so that it isn't as grainy. Also, make sure to not move your phone as soon as you take the photo, wait a little bit afterwards to ensure that there is no blur.

HDR Photography

1. In order to create an HDR photo, I need to manipulate the camera's lighting settings. I need to take multiple photos of the same frame with a variety of lighting settings ranging from underexposed to overexposed.

2. The equipment needed for this shoot would be a DSLR camera and a tripod.

3. Someone might take an HDR photo to showcase the beauty a specific place has. Also to show the range of lighting one frame has the capability of showing. HDR photos make the setting look unreal and very beautiful.

4. Once we merge all the photos together, we'll notice how the lights and darks blend together. We'll see how one place can show extreme darks and extreme lights that we normally wouldn't be able to see in just one frame.

Final Exam Planning Warm-Up

1. I'll be shooting this assignment next Saturday, May 7.

2. I'll be shooting this assignment at my subject's house in her room where her makeup vanity is.

3. My story that I'm documenting is my friend putting on her makeup from start to finish. I'm going to talk about how makeup makes women feel confident about themselves, and how makeup helps women feel comfortable in their own skin.

4. The only equipment I'll need is a DSLR camera in order to complete this assignment.

5. I want to start the iMovie with photos and b-roll of all of her makeup spread out on the vanity and also a photo of her clean face. From there I'll be documenting the steps of her makeup progress and b-roll of her hands and her applying the makeup. I'll be narrating over the photos and videos and I'll be talking about how makeup impacts a woman's confidence. I'll talk about the specific makeup item she's applying and how it makes her feel and how it affects the way she carries herself.
